On Thursday, 29 April 2010 during the 10th festive anniversary edition of the Vlerick Award in Kinepolis Brussel a new name will be added to the honour roll in the presence of many former winners and former nominees. The winner will be chosen based on the following criteria: "a business leader who guided his company to the international top with sustainable results".
Geertrui en Herman Van Rompuy have handed over the first YouBridge-laptop to the 24 year old Ugandese student Racheal of the International Health Science Universiteit in Uganda. YouBridge is a NGO, founded in 2009 by Vlerick alumni Jonas De Cooman, Pieter Dewinter en Barbara Van Speybroeck – 3 Vlerick-alumni who want to bridge the digital gap between less developed and developed countries.
Alumna Annelies Moens has won the Fundraising Institute of Australia’s NSW Fundraiser of the Year Award.
Alumna Veronique Pauwels (Bain & Company) has won the Young Captain Award 2009, one of Netherland's most famous awards.
Alumnus Patrick Decuyper has won the Creative Young Entrepreneur Award (CYEA). The CYEA is a price granted by Flanders DC and JCI (Junior Chamber International). Decuyper was in competition with more than 100 entrepreneurs from over 20 countries.
The first Vlerick Alumni reunion of the Italian Chapter took place on October 29 in Milan. Costanza Citrini, alumnus from FT IMBAL 2005, organized the “aperitivo Milano style” at a classical local restaurant “Marchesino” right next to the La Scala Theater, for the first international get-together.

As from Tuesday September 1st, the website of Vlerick Alumni is accessible for all alumni, paying member or not. The reason is that we wanted to give the non-members the opportunity to update their contact details and enroll themselves for events. Obviously, non-members only have a limited access to the website: among other things the database search and the career services remain a prerogative of paying members.
On June 10th 2009, the Vlerick IMBA alumni board organized the first edition of its 'Vlerick IMBA Leadership Event', based on the best-selling management book 'Crucibles of Leadership'.
