The Vlerick IMBA Alumni Board Members and the Full-Time IMBA Students have the pleasure to invite you for the first edition of the 'Platform for Development' series on Wednesday February 3th, 2010.
Vlerick IMBA's President Chris Van der Auwera will briefly outline the highlights of the 2010 Programme, followed by three Vlerick IMBA Alumni top speakers will deal with three core topics: Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Talent Management.

Philippe Vandeput / Managing Director / UCB Pharma
UCB is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the research, development and commercialization of innovative medicines with a focus on the fields of central nervous system and immunology disorders. Employing approximately 10.000 people in over 40 countries, UCB generated a revenue of 3.6 billion Euros in 2008.
Mr Vandeput is as Managing Director of UCB Belgium responsible for all commercial activities of UCB in Belgium. This includes full P&L responsibility and the supervision and coordination of the various functions (Sales and Marketing, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, Finance, HR and Supply Chain).
Prior to his role at UCB, Mr Vandeput took up several senior management roles at Baxter (Business Unit Director, Marketing Director,etc.)
Bipin Nambiar / Managing Director / Applied Development
Bipin Nambiar started his first company, ValueSource (an IT offshoring company) in 2000, when he started his MBA at Vlerick. Four years later, ValueSource was acquired by KBC Bank. After the sale, Bipin helped in the transition of this company into a fully owned captive development centre of KBC. Currently, ValueSource employs more than 300 developers in India and can be considered as the largest captive offshore development centre of a Belgian company.
In 2006 Bipin started up Applied Development, again focusing on providinig offshore development services. Gimv is one of the investors in the company. Applied Development services its clients using a combination of Belgian project management and Indian development talent. In the last 3 years the company has grown to a size of 50 development resources and is expected to grow to 100 people by end 2010. Applied Development has executed projects for companies such as UCB Pharma, Picanol, Delta Lloyd Bank, SD Worx, Barco and is one of the leading offshoring companies in the Belgian market for small and medium sized projects.
Carmen Vroonen / Director Corporate Communications / Hill & Knowlton
Carmen Vroonen is Director in the Corporate Communications practice of Hill & Knowlton International Belgium. Hill & Knowlton International Belgium is a leading communications and public affairs agency, owned by the WPP group. The company employs over 60 consultants in Brussels and assists more than 100 clients with public affairs and public relations services, including leading corporations, trade associations, governments & diplomatic missions and EU institutions.
Carmen specializes in media relations, reputation management, CSR communications, and internal communications. Prior to Hill & Knowlton, Carmen was Director of internal and external communications at McDonald's Europe. She developed the internal and externa communications strategy for McDonald's Europe and ensured alignment across 40 markets. She worked closely with the President of McDonald's Europe and his management team on media relations and various matters.
